A leading consulting firm is seeking a process engineer with 4-5 years of experience in solid/liquid processes for their Johannesburg office. The role involves managing resources, supervising engineers, and ensuring completion of essential process documentation. Candidates must have a BTECH or BSc in chemical engineering or metallurgy, and the ability to travel internationally is advantageous.
Must be open to travel to sites worldwide for commissioning and testing.
Ideal candidates will have 4-5 years of experience with solid/liquid processes, or relevant mine plant experience involving primary equipment such as thickeners, vacuum belt filters, clarifiers, floc plants, filter presses, flotation cells, or minerals processing. Possession of an international passport is a plus. A BTECH or BSc in chemical engineering or metallurgy (extractive) is required.
Responsibilities include managing department resources and activities, supervising process engineers and junior engineers, and ensuring completion of flowsheets, P&ID’s, pilot plants, and laboratory tests in accordance with procedures.
You will participate in departmental meetings, monitor and control tasks and deliverables, and assist in developing standardized flowsheets, P&ID’s, process design criteria, and specifications for process equipment and plants.
Additional duties involve process engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and contributing to process design documentation.
