Process Draughtsman – Durban

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop detailed technical drawings and schematics for industrial projects.
- Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, CADMATIC, SolidWorks, Autodesk Navisworks, etc.) and drafting tools to produce accurate process drawings.
- Build and maintain a library of equipment, piping, and fittings using Visio and/or CAD systems.
- Develop PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, isometric drawings, equipment drawings, and BOMs.
- Interpret engineering plans and specifications to ensure efficient project execution.
- Incorporate feedback and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain organized records of all project drawings and documentation.
- Identify and propose design and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Confirm project design requirements with clients and other stakeholders.
- Create and validate piping, insulation, instrument, and equipment specifications.
- Prepare and verify all Material Take Offs (MTOs).
- Monitor and report on project progress to all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proficient in English.
- Associate's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- 3–5 years' proven experience as a Process Draughtsman in an industrial project setting.
- Strong understanding of industrial processes and manufacturing techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Skilled in plant layout, piping/mechanical design, and detailing.
- Experience with multidisciplinary coordination (civil, mechanical, electrical, control & automation, production).
- Excellent teamwork, time management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Project is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel, undertake business trips, or relocate as required.
