Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position based in the Spirits department at the Wellington Distillery. The successful candidate will report to the Process Technologist.

Key Performance Areas:
  1. Operate continuous grain distillation column and vacuum still on a 12-hour shift basis.
  2. Continuously monitor and manage distillation processes.
  3. Conduct organoleptic evaluation of distillate regularly to ensure quality.
  4. Maintain strict loss control on all distillation processes.
  5. Manage effluent control after hours, including monitoring and operating a UASB reactor.
  6. Clean, repair, and perform maintenance on stills and equipment in the stillhouse.
  7. Keep accurate records of all required documentation.
  8. Ensure compliance with OHS Act standards.
  9. Draw and test production tank samples.
  10. Participate actively in TPM team activities and problem-solving initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  • Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a distillation environment.
  • Experience in a cellar environment is highly advantageous.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and independently.
  • Willing to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Willing to work overtime as required.
  • Reliable transport or access thereto.
  • Punctuality and reliable attendance are essential.
