Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Process Engineer with 1–2 years of process analysis experience, exposure to process modelling, and a foundation in BPM practices to deliver compliant, value-driven processes in an insurance-oriented environment.

You will plan deliverables, drive process improvement using SDLC and AGILE techniques, model As-Is and To-Be processes, conduct activity-based costing, and ensure regulatory compliance across operations.

Qualifications

  • Lean/Six Sigma White belt ideal.
  • 1-2 years Process Analysis experience with exposure to process modelling.
  • Insurance environment advantageous.
  • B.Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems / Industrial Engineering (NQF 7).
  • Relevant regulatory knowledge.
  • Analytical Skills.
  • Project Management.
  • System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Processes, policies and systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively plan process deliverables based on relevant project delivery method.
  • Execute process improvement initiatives using accepted techniques.
  • Take responsibility for individual delivery in terms of scope and time.
  • Participate in modelling and analysing operational/business processes including As Is discovery and analysis, To Be design and iterations, costing, optimisation and simulation.
  • Ensure that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations.
  • Assist in business value & ROI assessment.
  • Capture information in BPM tools and review models for compliance with standards.
  • Contribute to value chain analysis and linking business strategy to process architecture.
  • Apply company change management practices to process initiatives and interactions with internal project clients.
  • Understand regulatory and compliance drivers for the business within their customer domain.
  • Understand and apply AGILE methodology practices and tools.
  • Understand process measurements and how to capture them.
  • Understand BPMN and EPC notations.
  • Understand how BPM modelling tools and BPMS tools are used.
  • Keep abreast of changes in the industry and how it affects the PE role.

  • Understand the regulatory and compliance drivers for the business within their customer domain
  • Understanding and applying the AGILE methodology practices and tools
  • Understand process measurements including common metrics, determining what to capture and how to capture them
  • Able to understand process notations e.g. BPMN and EPC
  • Understand how BPM modelling tools and BPMS tools are used
  • Keep abreast of changes in the industry and how it affects the PE role.
