Job Summary

Build and maintain professional relationships with Private Wealth clients by achieving financial targets, acquiring new clients proactively, and enhancing customer experience within the bank’s regulatory and compliance frameworks.

Job Description

Accountability: Customer Relationships

  • Own the primary relationship with clients, working collaboratively with specialists to deliver our full value proposition.
  • Implement contact strategies based on client segmentation.
  • Develop and execute client relationship plans to understand and meet client needs.
  • Generate new business through engagement and onboarding of prospects.
  • Retain clients within targets and apply remedial actions when needed.
  • Achieve customer satisfaction scores as per thresholds.
  • Collaborate with the sales support team for effective support.

Accountability: Deepening Relationships

  • Prepare weekly performance reviews with the Area Manager.
  • Negotiate pricing structures aligned with policies to ensure profitability.
  • Cross-sell and up-sell products ensuring compliance with FAIS, FICA, and NCA.
  • Drive income growth through new client acquisition.
  • Analyze sales and portfolio profitability monthly, recommending actions as needed.

Accountability: Risk and Credit Management

  • Co-manage high-risk clients with Risk stakeholders.
  • Maintain transparency and communication regarding client requirements and credit positions.
  • Develop practical credit solutions based on client needs and industry knowledge.
  • Coordinate client reviews and ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure credit arrangements adhere to guidelines and are well-documented.
  • Manage portfolio risk in line with regulatory and compliance standards.

Accountability: Colleague and Personal Development

  • Act as backup for team members during absences or peak times.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and maintain CPD hours.
  • Complete mandatory compliance and training requirements.
  • Participate in economic forums and segment initiatives.
  • Align personal performance with Absa’s values and vision.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • B-degree in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies, or NQF Level 7 equivalent, with 5 years’ relevant experience OR
  • Diploma/National Diploma with 8 years’ experience, including 4 years in Non-Individuals within Private or Business Banking.
