A prestigious public institution is seeking a seasoned Principal Enterprise Architect to take the reins of strategic design and digital modernisation. This role sits at the intersection of business vision and IT delivery, driving large-scale transformation and guiding executive leadership through change.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise architecture strategy and frameworks that support both innovation and operational optimisation
• Align business and technology functions across distributed teams and shifting operating models
• Champion enterprise architecture across the organisation, shaping roadmaps that anticipate future disruptions
• Support governance and compliance frameworks while managing technology risk
• Provide thought leadership to internal stakeholders, influencing key decisions and organisational outcomes

Requirements

• Honours/Postgraduate Diploma (NQF 8) in IT, Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering or Finance
• At least 10 years’ experience in an IT environment, including 3–4 years at specialist level
• 10–12 years’ experience specifically in Enterprise Architecture
• TOGAF 9 (or higher), plus either Microsoft or Cisco certification
• Deep experience with EA frameworks, toolsets and technical modelling
• IBM tech stack knowledge and certifications are an added advantage
