Role Purpose:
To develop and implement funding solutions for the Vodacom Group and its group of companies and effectively support external bi-annual dividend distributions, bi-annual tax payments and other major payments throughout the year by ensuring sufficient cash collected via the centralised treasury function.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, arranging, and implementing new funding solutions for Group companies including refinancing of existing debt.
- Constructing financial structures and negotiating new finance facilities and reviewing funding legal agreements.
- Monitor and manage various borrower’s covenants ratios with various stakeholders.
- Drive reduction in and maintain efficient consolidated cost of debt.
- Prepare group board papers on short term borrowings, long term borrowings and Section 45 for related and inter-related financial assistance.
- Research and implement new Treasury projects.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Completed University degree, preferably in Finance.
- Must have technical/professional qualifications.
- Minimum 5 years of corporate treasury/banking and/or finance experience in a large multi-national corporate, bank or financial institution.
- Good knowledge of funding instruments including term loans, DCM funding, loan syndications, and hedging derivative instruments.
- Knowledge of financial regulatory environment and exchange control.
- Financial markets knowledge (foreign exchange risk, interest rates risk, money market etc.).
- Experience and understanding of Treasury Management Systems.
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
- Understand the SARB regulations on cross-border transactions, foreign direct investments and foreign exchange hedging to support on treasury advice on operational projects and M&A deals.
- Excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills.
- Strong report writing capabilities with extensive experience working on Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Interpersonal skills, team player and results driven.
