NHS Highland is seeking an accomplished pharmacist to lead their Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Pharmacy Service at New Craigs Hospital. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to professional development. This role involves enhancing pharmacy services across the health and social care partnership.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced pharmacist to lead our Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Pharmacy Service.
This rewarding position involves a major role in the development and long-term planning of the service within HHSCP. The post holder will be a clinical practitioner with extensive specialist mental health clinical pharmacy knowledge and experience. They will provide line management and professional leadership to deliver quality, innovative, and sustainable mental health pharmacy services across the HSCP area, with a focus on multi-professional working.
The post holder will join an established pharmacy team to advance clinical services aligned with local and national strategies, and to develop the pharmacy team through education, training, and skill mix development. They will represent pharmacy and NHS Highland on local and national committees and working groups.
This role requires management and leadership experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and good IT skills.
The candidate must hold a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Significant post-registration experience, a relevant postgraduate qualification such as a certificate or diploma in Psychiatric Pharmacy, and independent pharmacist prescriber status are essential. NHS Highland supports professional development with further training and education opportunities.
The position is based at New Craigs Hospital, Inverness. The role may involve travel, so a full, current driving license is essential.
