Principal Officer •Medical Scheme

The ideal candidate will reside in Cape Town and be a qualified Diesel Mechanic with at least 5 years of experience.

Our client would prefer someone who has worked on Volvo and Scania buses, as this is what the fleet is made up of.

Outline of Responsibilities:

1. Ensure regular inspection of vehicles - fleet consists of buses.
2. Coordinate the maintenance activities associated with the fleet.
3. Monitor work in progress and the completion of specialized service tasks.
4. Monitor activities associated with the mechanical maintenance and repair of all passenger, light, and heavy commercial vehicles.
5. Fault diagnoses, root cause analysis, monitoring the work quality and performance outputs.
6. Attend to routine investigations and general admin recording requirements contributing to the accomplishment of the City's objectives.
7. Check ISO compliance.
8. Check incident and accident history.
9. Follow up on claims and defects.
10. Monitor fleet use, misuse, and abuse.
11. Conduct accident investigations and manage insurance claims.
