JOB PURPOSE
Leads the development, implementation, and execution of organization-wide information technology plans and strategy that contribute to the development and delivery of Engineering, Delivery, and Architecture functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Functional Strategy Formation and Implementation
- Develop and lead the Group’s Engineering, Architecture, and Delivery strategy, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, while ensuring integration with wider corporate strategy.
- Develop, implement, monitor, review, and evaluate the Engineering, Architecture, and Delivery functions to formulate and implement Technology strategy.
- Ensure the strategy is successfully implemented and meets short, medium, and long-term business needs.
- Enable businesses to capitalize on new opportunities and build out new capabilities.
- Create, monitor, and analyze financial and operational metrics that track performance and provide insights for the functions.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-term planning, new programs/strategies, and regulatory actions.
- Manage business information strategy, development, and implementation of business systems to improve productivity and performance.
- Partner with business executives to run Group strategic projects, understand business requirements, and analyze market demands and trends.
- Support the Group Technology CEO with the implementation of Tech strategy across all companies.
- Oversee the deployment and management of current and future technology systems, ensuring scalability and flexibility.
- Communicate the function's strategy and its alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and values; motivate teams to achieve organizational goals.
Information, Business Advice, Policies, and Procedures
- Provide authoritative advice to leadership on policy implementation, project design, and change initiatives.
- Lead the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines for delivery, product design, architecture, and governance, ensuring compliance and integration.
Internal Client Relationship Management
- Build partnering relationships with business and technology managers, establishing credibility and trust.
- Ensure internal clients have access to high-quality advice and guidance.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach.
Business Case and Planning
- Develop and secure approval for annual business plans aligned with strategy, including KPIs, budgets, and business cases.
- Lead the development and review of program and project business cases, making evidence-based recommendations.
- Handle external audit findings and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and corporate governance.
- Formulate policies and procedures in line with legislation and ensure their implementation.
Financial Management and Budgeting
- Manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial controls.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Collaborate across functions to gather requirements and define project scopes.
- Champion new ways of working and integration of tech and business delivery models.
- Build relationships with stakeholders, providing updates and addressing concerns.
- Recognize outcomes from effective collaboration.
