Job summary

A consulting firm is seeking a Principle Consultant to lead diverse IT consulting projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and over 10 years of experience, including supervisory roles. Responsibilities include guiding consultants, developing solutions, and presenting to clients. Expertise in Software AG products and various programming languages is essential. This position offers a highly negotiable salary aligned with market standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years work experience with some supervisory responsibility.
• Experience with software development and system integration.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
• External certification in area of expertise.
• Experience in multiple areas such as Java/C++/.NET, XML, RDBMS, OS, EAI, Web servers, ERP, CRM, and Web development.

Responsibilities

• Lead consulting projects from start to finish.
• Provide guidance on solution design to other consultants.
• Develop training materials and present to clients.
• Develop Architecture blueprints and participate in enterprise architecture design and maintenance.
• Coordinate and lead customer workshops; analyze functional requirements; provide detailed technical specifications and effort estimates.
• Present to clients and management in an effective and professional manner.

JOB SUMMARY

• Performs consulting projects, ranging from short- to long-term engagements requiring varied interpersonal and technical skills.
• Technical responsibilities include problem identification, implementation, testing, client training, solution design and deployment.
• Assists and participate with enterprise architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design.
• Viewed by customers as a product expert and is typically measured by delivery of agreed solutions within budgeted hours.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Act as team lead and provide direction in solution design to other consultants at client site.
• Lead the preparation of client proposals; participate in RFP process; and participate in the identification and development of sales opportunities.
• Demonstrate expert working knowledge of SAG/WebMethods products and methodologies.
• Recommends and participate in the development of Architecture blue prints
• Recommends and participates in activities related to design, development and maintenance of Enterprise Architecture.
• Advises and recommends Enterprise Architecture Strategies, processes and methodologies.
• Train, coach, mentor, and assist others in a team effort.
• Identify additional product/services opportunities in customer organization.
• Create and present functional or technical training materials
• Interprets business situations and uses best practices to improve products, processes and services
• Analyses and solves complex problems; considers existing solutions from a new perspective
• Develops new solutions and support others in solving complex problems
• Implements technical/ functional architecture for complex IT applications
• Coordinate and lead customer workshops
• Analyse functional requirements and provide detailed technical specification and effort estimation
• Knows the relevant competitors and their distinguishing characteristics in the market
• Technical expert in more than one specialised area/industry and has technical knowledge in other areas

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or a related field
2. Minimum of 10 years work experience with some supervisory
3. A minimum of three Software AG certifications on current version of the relevant product suite.
4. A minimum of one external certification in area of expertise
5. Experience or training with three or more of the following areas:
   • Object oriented programming (Java/C++/.NET)
   • XML
   • RDBMS (Oracle, Informix, DB2, SQL Server, Sybase, MySQL)
   • Operating Systems (Linux, Unix, Mac OSX, Windows)
   • EAI, middleware, or other integration experience
   • Web servers (Netscape, Microsoft) or web application servers
   • CRM (Siebel, Clarify, Vantive…)
   • ERP (PeopleSoft, SAP, Baan, Oracle Applications, JDE)
   • B2B - RosettaNet, EDI, EBXML or industry-specific standards
   • Web development (JSF, Servlets, Portlets, JSP)
   • webMethods or Software AG products.
   • Tibco, SeeBeyond,Vitria, etc. a plus.
