Description
Wembley College is a leading English-medium, co-educational independent school set on a beautiful campus in the rolling hills of Greytown, KwaZulu-Natal. Just an hour from both Pietermaritzburg and Ballito, it offers a peaceful country setting with easy access to both city life and the coast. Our early years programme draws inspiration from the psychomotor approach, recognising movement and play as essential tools for learning. We believe that physical expression, creativity, and sensory exploration are key to developing confident, capable, and emotionally secure young learners.

We are seeking a passionate Preschool Teacher to join our Junior School team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, engaging environment where each child is supported in developing age-appropriate competencies, curiosity, and independence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons aligned with the ISASA ECD curriculum.
  • Foster holistic development—academic, social, emotional, and physical.
  • Observe and assess student progress; compile detailed bi-annual reports.
  • Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication and formal interviews.
  • Maintain a safe, well-organised, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the school’s academic, cultural, and sporting life.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and specialists to support individual learning needs.
  • Participate in professional development and school-based initiatives.
  • Support school events, fundraising, and community engagement efforts.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Relevant teaching qualification.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in preschool teaching.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, nurturing, and professional approach to teaching.
  • Willingness to coach sports and participate in extra-curricular activities.
  • Valid PDP license or willingness to obtain one.
