An established dealership in the East Rand is looking for a driven and experienced Pre-Owned Vehicle Manager to take full ownership of the used car department.

This is a leadership role focused on building a high-performing team, managing inventory effectively, and maximising sales performance.

We’re looking for someone with a strong business mind, a passion for vehicles, and an in-depth understanding of the local market.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the used car department, from sourcing to final sale
  • Evaluate trade-ins and acquire stock that aligns with market demand and dealership standards
  • Oversee the reconditioning process to ensure vehicles are retail-ready and competitively presented
  • Monitor pricing strategies using market data to stay ahead of competitors
  • Set and track sales targets, ensuring the department consistently meets performance goals
  • Provide strong leadership, coaching, and support to the sales team
  • Drive online and onsite visibility through effective marketing and presentation of inventory
  • Build strong customer relationships and ensure a premium buying experience
  • Ensure full compliance with dealership procedures and industry regulations

Candidate Profile

  • At least 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role within a franchised dealership
  • Solid understanding of the used vehicle market in Gauteng, particularly the East Rand region
  • Proven ability to appraise vehicles accurately and make profitable stock decisions
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and sales ability
  • Highly organised with a focus on results and accountability
  • Valid South African driver’s license and clean driving record
