Job description

Our premium passenger vehicle dealership in PTA currently holds a vacancy for a Service Manager.

Reporting to the Dealer Principal/Franchise Executive, this position is suited for a person who can ensure that the dealership makes profits and maintains good customer relationships.

Specific Role Responsibilities
  1. Ensure departmental achievement of budget objectives through continual examination of operating controls.
  2. Operate the department efficiently.
  3. Ensure accurate invoicing and job costing.
  4. Maintain effective control of expenses aligned with budget objectives.
  5. Monitor workshop productivity and effective use of labour.
  6. Ensure prompt collection of all outstanding debts.
  7. Control and profitably sell purchased materials.
  8. Review pricing policies, labour rates, fleet discounts, parts pricing, and other company policies.
  9. Monitor workshop technician performance and warranty claims.
  10. Enhance customer service and retention through improved facilities, technician skills, marketing, and staff training.
  11. Maintain high standards of quality workmanship.
  12. Record and act upon customer complaints or compliments.
  13. Oversee warranty and goodwill cases.
  14. Identify training needs, plan programs, and maintain training records.
  15. Implement staff appraisal systems and act on results.
  16. Conduct monthly service staff meetings.
  17. Ensure clerical functions adhere to policies.
  18. Review departmental activities with the Dealer Principal.
  19. Manage premises, equipment, and assets effectively.
  20. Establish safety and security procedures.
  21. Check workshop equipment for condition and diagnosis accuracy.
  22. Open and close premises responsibly.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of Grade 12.
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience in a Service Department.
  • Preference for candidates with Service Technician Qualification.
  • Luxury brand product training required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Clear criminal record required.
