Job summary

Execustaff South Africa (Pty) Ltd in Gauteng is seeking a QA Inspector to perform visual and dimensional inspections on fabrication components, verify material identification, ensure conformance with WPS/ISO 3834-2, and document results with IMS-compliant records.

You will coordinate with welders, supervisors, engineers and project managers, report non-conformances, support corrective actions, and uphold safety and housekeeping standards during all inspection stages.

Responsibilities

• Visual & dimensional inspection of components to drawing tolerances and QA check sheets.
• Verify material identification, traceability, and compliance with material certificates.
• Use measuring instruments to validate fabrication accuracy.
• Identify and report non-conformances in real time.
• Ensure weld preparation, processes, and final welds conform to WPS and ISO 3834-2 requirements.
• Monitor welding activities including preheat, interpass temps, and consumable control.
• Cross-verify welder qualifications and WPS traceability on live jobs.
• Identify welding defects and initiate QA hold points.
• Prepare and tag components for MPI or UT testing; liaise with NDT providers and witness testing.
• Document results and escalate critical findings to QA Manager and Production Lead.
• Log NCs and ensure closure of root causes with Production, Engineering, and Planning.
• Support preventive measures to reduce QA failures.
• Close out corrective actions with Production and Engineering.
• Complete QA checklist and inspection reports for every fabrication stage; maintain IMS-aligned records.
• Support MDR compilation by providing inspection documentation and escalate recurring trends to QA Management.
• Work closely with Welders, Supervisors, Engineers, and Project Managers; participate in daily QA meetings and toolbox talks.
• Provide on-the-job guidance to production personnel on quality expectations and workmanship standards.
• Adhere to HSE requirements and promote safe working practices.
