Pre-Technical Sales Support: Sustainable Energy (Cape Town) - 07-28 Milnerton / Century City

The Pre-Technical Sales position provides pre-sales technical support to customers in the sustainable energy sector and assists the sales department with related enquiries.

The role involves confirming specifications on inverters, batteries, solar panels, and accessories within the Sustainable Energy portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Update specifications sheets and user manuals.
  2. Present training to the sales team on the Sustainable Energy portfolio and participate in industry shows.
  3. Consult effectively on specific products and assist with Bill of Materials for solar solutions based on client needs.
  4. Visit local suppliers and accompany external sales staff on client visits for product demonstrations.
  5. Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions in-house.
  6. Stay updated on the latest product developments.
  7. Provide pre-sales technical support via email, phone, or in person.
  8. Prepare complete Bills of Materials for pre-sales inquiries.
  9. Maintain and update product specification sheets and interface documentation.
  10. Coordinate with the service department to minimize failure rates.
  11. Engage with suppliers for technical support and information.
  12. Follow up with clients on pre-sales queries and feedback.
  13. Manage demo stock and ensure proper return procedures.
  14. Communicate professionally and maintain a neat appearance.
  15. Contribute to team goals and suggest improvements for customer service and growth.
  16. Comply with quality, security, legislative, and company policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric Certificate
  • Electrical Engineering N6 / Bachelor of Technology or similar qualification
  • At least 5 years' experience in the electrical industry

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Experience with batteries, both lead acid and lithium
  • Understanding of lithium battery principles, BMS limitations, and communication
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of electrical standards (SANS)
  • Familiarity with electrical/renewable energy industry products and software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related applications
  • Understanding of Sustainable Energy Systems
