Job description

Remuneration : R15000.00 to R18000.00 dependent on skill set, knowledge, and experience

Purpose Of The Job :

A well-established pre-owned dealership is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Debtors & Creditors Clerk to support their team . The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and balancing debtor and creditor accounts, financial reconciliations, vehicle profit calculations, and assisting with critical accounting and operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Processing & Reconciliations

  • Allocate daily bank statements and finance payouts accurately
  • Process and reconcile all bank statement transactions
  • Final invoice vehicles and ensure supporting documentation is complete and correct
  • Calculate and record accurate vehicle profit margins
  • Cost vehicles correctly into stock and maintain ledger accuracy
  • Perform weekly balancing of both debtors and creditors
  • Conduct creditor reconciliations and ensure timely payments

Reporting & Month-End Duties

  • Prepare and reconcile the Monthly Dealer Operating Control (DOC)
  • Ensure month-end balancing across all accounts
  • Compile and maintain accurate month-end files
  • Audit deal files to ensure compliance with company and OEM requirements
  • Maintain intercompany account balancing and reconciliation
  • Requirements :

  • Matric (Grade 12) with accounting or finance-related subjects
  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar role within a passenger vehicle dealership (pre-owned experience)
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle invoicing, stock costing, and profit calculations
  • Experience working with dealership management systems (e.g., Kerridge / Autoline / CDK / Reynolds)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
  • Computer literate (especially MS Excel)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Automotive Industry experience Essential!!
