Job description

Our client is looking for a highly organised and experienced Director/Practice Manager to oversee the daily management of their practice. You will play a key role in ensuring their operations run efficiently, their teams remain productive, and their clients consistently receive high-quality service.

Location: Port Elizabeth
Salary: Market related

Start Date: As soon as possible

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor the full work scheduling cycle – from monthly work allocation to progress tracking and deadline management.
  • Oversee WIP and billing processes, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Lead the debtors function, including daily collections, client communication, and credit control.
  • Take responsibility for tax administration and compliance tracking, including SARS correspondence, audits, and return submissions.
  • Work closely with team managers to monitor staff productivity, performance, and evaluations.
  • Prepare and report on monthly management reports, including BFI dashboards, profitability, and KPIs.
  • Act as the operational link between staff, clients, and the head office to ensure firm-wide alignment.

Job Requirements:

  • SAIPA or equivalent accounting qualification (strongly preferred)
  • 5–8+ years of experience in a senior management or practice operations role
  • Hands-on experience with GreatSoft, Xero, SARS eFiling, and workflow management tools
  • Proven ability to lead teams, enforce deadlines, and manage operational complexity
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and strategic thinking
