Description

Well-known and respected medium-sized Assurance, Accounting, and Consultancy firm is seeking an experienced Practice / Finance Manager to join their team at their offices in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.

The company emphasizes SAICA, IRBA, staff, and administrative responsibilities to ensure operational excellence and compliance with professional standards. Responsibilities

  1. Manage full bookkeeping and accounting functions up to trial balance, including debtors, creditors, bank, petty cash, journals, etc., using PASTEL & XERO.
  2. Oversee office management to ensure efficient daily operations.
  3. Handle all financial management aspects, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
  4. Manage Work-In-Progress (WIP) and operational workflows to enhance productivity.
  5. Lead staff management activities such as recruitment, performance evaluations, and team development.
  6. Research industry trends, provide technical insights, and organize staff training sessions.
  7. Reconcile receipts in Xero and Greatsoft, conduct debtors interest runs, and manage Greatsoft period rollovers.
  8. Notify clients via CDM and update eDocs letterhead/content as needed.
  9. Streamline and oversee client onboarding processes across departments.
  10. Conduct exit interviews with clients and staff, managing exit procedures.
  11. Prepare internal recharge reports and update global statistics in Greatsoft.
  12. Compile monthly management reports and analyze budget versus actual performance.
  13. Stay informed on industry legislation, regulations, and guidelines; organize relevant training.
  14. Manage IRBA lists and process FASSET claims for learnership allowances.
  15. Monitor ADP progress reports and support trainees with CaseWare.
  16. Adjust staff charge-out rates annually and update rates for interim increases or role changes.
  17. Perform ad hoc duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A postgraduate qualification in finance or accounting is essential.
  • Completion of articles (SAICA or SAIPA) is advantageous.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA(SA), AGA(SA), or PA(SA) are highly valued.
  • Experience with Greatsoft, Pastel, Xero, SimplePay, Pastel Payroll, CaseWare, and eFiling.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Remuneration

  • R35,000 – R50,000 per month, negotiable based on experience.
  • Discretionary bi-annual performance-based bonus.
  • Additional performance-based bonuses linked to fee targets.
