Our client in the Pharmaceutical Industry based in Parktown, Johannesburg, is currently looking to employ a PowerBI Developer.

Requirements:

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and data modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
• Microsoft Power BI certification (e.g., PL-300).
• Strong skills in DAX, Power Query, and Power BI Service.
• Experience performing Excel-based reporting and data analysis.
• Ability to translate business problems into data solutions.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

1. Dashboard and Report Development:

• Build interactive Power BI dashboards and reports based on user needs and business KPIs.
• Ensure a consistent and intuitive user experience across reporting outputs.

2. Data Modeling and Transformation:

• Use Power Query and DAX to clean, transform, and model data.
• Optimize report performance through efficient data structures.

3. Excel-Based Reporting and Analysis:

• Perform ad hoc data analysis using Excel when required.
• Integrate and cross-check Excel outputs with Power BI to ensure data consistency and flexibility.

4. Data Integration and Automation:

• Connect to multiple data sources including SQL databases, Excel, Smartsheet, and APIs.
• Automate refresh schedules and support data pipeline efficiency.

5. Stakeholder Engagement and Support:

• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical reporting solutions.
• Train and support stakeholders on Power BI usage and report interpretation.

6. Governance and Quality Assurance:

• Ensure data accuracy, maintain documentation, and follow best practices in governance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues efficiently.
• Contribute to the maturation of data infrastructure and self-service analytics culture.
