The Production Team Lead role exists to plan, manage, and coordinate projects, resources and processes associated with all the company's products. As well as maintain quality and consistency of all projects. Responsible for all aspects of end-to-end post production, credit budgeting and delivery, team workload scheduling, focusing on the creative and business side of production within your team. This includes some pre-production (script writing, working on creative treatments, etc) managing editors, giving creative input, and seeing projects through from commencement to completion.
You will ensure the production process is completed on time, to budget and to the agreed quality expectations. You will guide the creative direction of projects and along with your regional Account Managers, client relations of your customers. Video editors are Storytellers. Image crafters. Mood setters. The company expects its people to ‘do what you do best’ on every project they work on.
The Production Team Lead role is responsible for the success of their projects and is measured by the overall success and satisfaction of your customers.

Key Roles of a PRODUCTION TEAM LEAD.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Manage and oversee all activities directly related to your clients projects
- To assess and assign video submissions (Projects) to the most appropriate editor
- Oversee edit projects from start to finish
- Manage your clients submitted projects through the post-production pipeline adhering to the SLA
- Work closely with team members to help your team improve output quality of projects for clients
- Manage credit budget for projects
- Ensure quality control - watching all videos for errors and brand compliance before delivery.
CREATIVE
- To review and approve or reject your team’s video projects to ensure the quality of all deliverables
- Collaborate with your team to help develop creativity and streamline the editing process.
- Lead discovery calls to define project scope and plan accordingly.
- Give creative feedback on projects and ensure quality control.
- Assist with pre-production and provide creative support to clients
- Scripting and creative treatments to help clients bring projects to life
- Provide solutions to improve workflows within the editing team
- Be hands-on with After Effects and contribute to projects when the team is at capacity.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members.
- Advise on upskilling opportunities and help the team grow their skills.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.
- Represent the edit team in meetings and advocate for their needs.
- Manage the different aspects of the production cycle and coordinate with internal support areas where needed
CLIENT RELATIONS
- Understand clients’ brand guidelines and specific needs.
- Act as the primary contact for clients on animation projects.
- Run client calls to set clear expectations and offer insights.
- Bring in Professional Services when upskilling and training requirements are identified
- Manage client expectations around project timelines and deliverables.
- Provide feedback to clients to improve their future projects.
- Help clients refine their briefs to ensure high-quality results.
- Build strong relationships with key clients and attend meetings.
- Provide creative support for clients when needed.
- Work with Account and CX teams to ensure client success over the long term.
- Attend QBRs as needed or requested by the Strategic Account Manager
- Attend new client onboarding sessions as the Production team representative
Other
- Attend new client onboarding sessions as the Production team representative
- Along with Account Management & CX teams, ensure the 12 month CX plan is successful
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience across the Production/Post Production industry
- Solid experience in client relations and communication
- Creatively strategising a client’s brief and bringing it to life through video
- Ability to effectively communicate effectively in a fast paced stressful environment
- Personal initiative with minimal supervision, but can handle constructive criticism from others
- Excellent communication skills; is able to coordinate resources and responsibilities; must be a self-starter, highly motivated to complete tasks at hand.
- Understanding of post production workflows and software
- Ability to use Adobe Premiere Pro
- General knowledge across the wider Adobe CC Suite
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Consulting with clients for amendments and approvals
- Maintaining accurate and up to date brand knowledge
- Collaboration with a global group of Production Team Leads & Editors to share ideas and workloads
Role Specific Requirements
- Video Production is dynamic & clients deadlines must be respected. There is a common phrase within our industry “Your lack of preparation is not my emergency”. While this rings true, we always do our best to meet our customers' shifting needs. From time to time to accommodate deadlines, you will be required to work outside your regular working hours.
- You will be required to attend certain global meetings from time to time. These may fall outside your normal working hours.
Setup
WFH/ Hybrid - Eastwood office (2x per week onsite)
