Job description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies requires the services of a reputable Post Basic Qualify Pharmacist Assistant for their Verdi store. Your role will involve providing pharmaceutical care by addressing patients' medicine-related needs and being accountable for meeting these needs.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • Experience with Unisolv
  • Computer literacy – MS Office
  • Sound numerical skills
  • Strong command of English and a second language
  • Willingness to work retail hours
Advantages:
  • Knowledge of Retail/FMCG operations
  • Third additional language
  • Experience with SAP and E-Scripting
  • Knowledge of or experience in drug, family planning, and complementary medicine
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with sale and compounding of Schedule 1 and 2 medicines
  • Prepare and manufacture non-sterile medicines
  • Re-package medicines and manage stock control
  • Order medicines up to Schedule 6
  • Read, interpret, and prepare prescriptions accurately
  • Ensure all medications are checked and signed by a pharmacist
  • Advise and assist patients in the dispensary and front-shop
  • Follow up on prescriptions and medical aid claims
  • Maintain customer profiles and stock levels
  • Stock management and stock takes
