Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a reputable Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant for their Three Rivers store.

The role involves providing pharmaceutical care by managing patients' medicine-related needs and being accountable for meeting these needs.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • Experience with Unisolv
  • Computer literacy – MS Office
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Proficiency in English and a second language
  • Willingness to work retail hours
Advantageous:
  • Knowledge of Retail / FMCG operations
  • Third Additional Language
  • Knowledge or experience in SAP and E-Scripting
  • Knowledge of drug and family planning, and complementary medicine
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the sale and preparation of medicines and scheduled substances
  • Assist in manufacturing, repackaging, and stock control of medicines
  • Assist with ordering medicines up to Schedule 6
  • Interpret prescriptions and dispense medicines accurately
  • Capture and verify prescription details in the system
  • Provide patient instructions and ensure medication accuracy
  • Advise patients and assist with medical aid procedures
  • Process claims, correct script errors, and manage medication authorizations
  • Maintain customer profiles and stock levels
  • Receive and merchandise stock, and conduct stock takes
