Job description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies requires the services of a reputable Post Basic Qualify Pharmacist Assistant for their Norwood store. Your role will involve providing pharmaceutical care by managing patients' medicine-related needs and being accountable for meeting these needs.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • Experience with Unisolv
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Proficiency in English and a second language
  • Willingness to work retail hours
Advantages:
  • Knowledge of Retail/FMCG operations
  • Additional language skills (3rd language)
  • Experience with SAP and E-Scripting
  • Knowledge of drug family planning and complementary medicine
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the sale and preparation of Schedule 1 and 2 medicines
  • Assist in compounding and manufacturing non-sterile medicines
  • Re-package medicines and manage stock control
  • Order medicines according to legal requirements
  • Interpret prescriptions and prepare medicines accordingly
  • Accurately capture and verify script details
  • Ensure correct dispensing and provide patient instructions
  • Update and maintain patient and medical aid information
  • Ensure medication accuracy and compliance with legal standards
  • Assist patients in the dispensary and front-shop
  • Follow up on prescriptions and medical aid claims
  • Maintain stock levels and perform stock takes
