Job description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies require the services of a reputable Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant for their Musina store. Your role will involve providing pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for the patient's medicine-related needs and being accountable for meeting these needs.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • Experience with Unisolv
  • Computer literacy – MS Office
  • Sound numerical skills
  • Strong command of English and another language
  • Willingness to work retail hours
Advantageous:
  • Knowledge of Retail/FMCG operations
  • Additional language skills (3rd language)
  • Experience with SAP and E-Scripting
  • Knowledge of drug family planning and complementary medicine
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with the sale and compounding of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines and scheduled substances.
  2. Assist with manufacturing, re-packaging, and distribution of medicines.
  3. Manage stock control and ordering of medicines up to Schedule 6.
  4. Read, interpret, and prepare prescriptions accurately, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
  5. Capture and verify prescription details and patient information.
  6. Ensure accurate medication picking, packing, labeling, and checking.
  7. Provide patient instructions and promote health awareness.
  8. Handle medical aid claims, rejections, and authorizations for chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medications.
  9. Maintain customer profiles and stock levels, report shortages, and assist with stock takes.
  10. Exercise stock, cash, and asset control in accordance with SOPs.
