Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant (PBQ) for the Walmer Park store. You will provide pharmaceutical care, assist with the sale and preparation of medicines, and ensure accurate dispensing under the supervision of a pharmacist.

The role requires SAPC registration, Grade 12, and a Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification, with advantageous knowledge of retail FMCG and Unisolv systems. Retail hours apply and patient safety is paramount.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification.
• Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines.
• Assist with compounding/preparation of non-sterile medicines under pharmacist guidance.
• Assist with packaging, stock control, and stock distribution.
• Read and prepare prescriptions; ensure accurate labeling and dispensing.
• Accurately interpret scripts and verify patient details in the system.
• Provide patient counseling on correct medicine usage and potential interactions.
