Job summary

A property management company in Roodepoort is looking for a skilled Community Scheme Manager to oversee financial and administrative management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Sectional Title Management, bookkeeping, and be proficient in advising trustees on relevant regulations. Proficiency in English and Afrikaans is essential. Responsibilities include managing bank accounts, collections, and compliance with regulations. This role requires a vehicle for site visits.

Job description

Applications will only be considered from candidates with a minimum two (2) years of experience in Sectional Title Management.

Job Purpose :

Manage all facets of their portfolio and ensure accurate, consistent, and prompt financial and administrative management in line with world-class service delivery and the management agreement.

Role Scope and Activities :

  • Responsibilities include tasks related to bank accounts, insurance, rule enforcement, maintenance, service providers, clearances, levy collection, creditor payments, scheme employees, records, property portals, general meetings, trustee management, administration, financial management, taxation, CSOS compliance, POPIA & PAIA, and general operations.
  • Must be able and skilled in advising trustees on Sectional Title & HOA matters, having the experience and knowledge of the Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act (STSMA).
  • The ideal candidate will have ample bookkeeping experience and will be able to engage with Accountants on a regular basis to review draft financial statements. They will also have sufficient experience in debtor management, collections and liaising with attorneys on related matters.

Requirements / Prerequisites :

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Sectional Title Management - skilled in advising trustees on Sectional Title & HOA (Homeowners' Association) matters, having the experience and knowledge of the Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act (STSMA).
  • 1 year bookkeeping experience.
  • Own vehicle, to use in visiting community schemes.
  • Two years as a Community Scheme Manager.
  • Experience with CSOS (Community Schemes Ombud Service compliance), POPIA & PAIA (Promotion of Access to Information Act), and general operations.
  • Advantage : Tertiary qualification (ideally in commerce, law, finance, or property studies).
  • Person needs to speak English & Afrikaans.
