Job description

Leading pharmaceutical and medical supplier requires a Portfolio Manager for Nephrology / Renal Dialysis. This position is based in Johannesburg North.
Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in either Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
Clinical Technologist- Nephrology/Nursing qualification with dialysis experience will be an advantage
Proven experience (minimum of 3 years) in Product Management

Purpose of the Role:
Implement and drive strategies in alignment with the regional strategy, utilizing the aligned sales model and channels while following the Group Strategy and the company's overall vision, mission, and values
Inventory Management - Responsible for forecasting the requirements of locally manufactured and imported products to maintain optimal stock levels at all times to meet strategic objectives
Implement strategies to move slow-moving or short-dated stock and rationalize the portfolio as required
Break down the regional targets received from the Managing Director into specific targets for local sales teams and individuals in collaboration with the Regional Sales Managers
Implement marketing strategies, segmentation, promotional plans, and pricing strategies
Monitor performance and analyse data to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities
Determine market viability and introduce new products to the market based on business potential
Stay up to date on market conditions, competitors, clients, and other factors that may affect the business, including relevant market research to identify customer needs and market trends
Establish relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the industry and professionals in the health sector related to the various product portfolios
Plan and coordinate training events, attendance at congresses/symposia, and conduct relevant customer training
Be well-informed and possess a thorough understanding of customers' tender and quote systems, ensuring timely and correct submission of tender bids
Maintain sound clinical and conceptual knowledge of the portfolios and stay current with the latest research and trends
Oversee the training of Area Sales Executives to ensure the sales team is fully trained and competent in selling and detailing the products
Join Area Sales Executives in the field (co-travel) to review team expertise in products and concepts, and to ensure sustained customer engagement
