An exciting opportunity exists within an innovative Fintech team who serve the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) industry. As part of the broader Client team guided by our financial inclusive strategy, we are looking for an experienced Portfolio or Product Manager to own our Unsecured Lending Business Term Advance product across the value chain through client insights, product enhancements, stakeholder engagement, and to be accountable for product profitability and overall performance.
You will also own the Unsecured SME Lending product and marketplace strategy and execution under the company brand.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
Manage Business Term Advance product day to day to deliver product performance and profitability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning Marketing, Sales, IT, and CX to scale the product so that the year-on-year growth targets are achieved.
Own the execution of the Unsecured Business Lending marketplace.
Create new products and features to enhance the company business value proposition and to ensure requisite scale is achieved.
Identify and manage potential third-party product partners and negotiate commercial positions with them.
Provide insights to the broader team around innovation and developments within the Business Lending and Fintech industry, and setup business cases for evaluation on new ideas.
Daily, weekly and monthly product performance reports and presentations to senior and executive management.
Key performance indicators:
Business Lending Advances (disbursements).
Revenue Yield/Profitability.
Effectiveness of marketing spend (including effective allocation of marketing budgets to maximise returns).
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
Matric essential
Relevant 3- or 4-year Business degree essential
Minimum of 8 years of experience within Product Development essential
Fintech or Business Lending experience preferred
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
Prior Business Lending product design and development experience is essential.
A detailed knowledge understanding of the fast-paced fintech lending industry is essential.
Understanding of regulatory requirements essential.
Experience in building, launching and rapidly scaling SME lending products, ideally in a Fintech environment.
