Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to oversee investment portfolios for high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients in Welkom. You will develop investment strategies, allocate assets, and manage risk to meet client objectives and tolerance.

You will lead market analysis, identify opportunities, and communicate recommendations to clients while maintaining regulatory compliance across portfolios. Hybrid work options are available in the Free State region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in investment management or financial advisory.
• Proven track record of managing investment portfolios and meeting client objectives.
• Deep understanding of financial markets, instruments, and portfolio construction.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage portfolios; make buy/sell decisions across asset classes.

About the Role

You will be at the forefront of market analysis, identifying investment opportunities and managing risks effectively to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement tailored investment strategies aligned with client goals, risk profiles, and market conditions.
• Monitor and manage investment portfolios, making buy/sell decisions across various asset classes (equities, fixed income, alternatives).
• Conduct thorough investment research and analysis to identify promising investment opportunities and potential risks.
• Regularly review portfolio performance with clients, providing clear explanations and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree or CFA designation is a strong advantage.
• 5+ years of experience in investment management, portfolio management, or financial advisory.
• Proven track record of successfully managing investment portfolios and achieving client objectives.
• Deep understanding of financial markets, investment products, and portfolio construction techniques.
• Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
