Who are we?

Sanlam Developing Markets [SDM](a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited) is one of the top financial services providers in the South African entry-level and emerging middle market. It aims to understand the unique requirements of clients and offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions that cover needs such as funeral insurance, savings for education, life cover, and personal accident plans. In terms of the Sanlam Group Governance Policy, SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster, which is part of the Sanlam Life and Savings cluster within the Sanlam Group. The cluster focuses on retail products, as well as group schemes.

What will you do?
  1. Vest, partner, and grow selected franchises to facilitate the implementation of core business drivers such as manpower, quality, productivity, and compliance.
  2. Assist the business in setting up or transitioning new franchise businesses and providing operational, technical, and business support, including prime office location and expansion plans.
  3. Help franchises grow their portfolios regarding multiple business locations, product offerings, manpower, quality indicators, billing mix, productivity, and overall business acumen.
  4. Support sourcing and recruiting financial advisers, sales managers, and branch managers for franchises.
  5. Develop and expand existing markets, focusing on Stop Order initiatives.
  6. Establish new worksite facilities.
  7. Ensure compliance and risk management.
  8. Manage the quality of new business.
  9. Provide ongoing training and sales support to franchises.
  10. Practice development.
  11. Analyze management reports.
  12. Build and maintain business relationships.
  13. Control pay points and focus on worksites and conservation efforts.
  14. Continuously improve service standards for clients.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Matric
  • Tertiary qualification
  • A marketing or financial qualification
  • RE5 and RE1 certifications
Knowledge and Skills
  • At least 3 years of sales experience, with a minimum of one year in a sales management support role.
  • Preference for candidates from the financial services industry.
  • Solid understanding of Sky processes and systems is advantageous.
