JOB CONTEXT
As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for managing strategic client partnerships, supported by key account executives.
Your focus will be on identifying and managing key strategic partners to maximize business opportunities, revenue, and profitability.
Key responsibilities include sales management, partnership engagement, operational oversight, and understanding ROI and key metrics, along with team management.
KEY OUTPUTS
Front-end Sales Management
- Develop and execute short- and long-term sales strategies to meet company sales goals and profitability targets through effective partnerships.
- Engage with business leaders to discuss strategies and deliver sales presentations.
- Set strategies for assigned partners and oversee their execution.
- Analyze business opportunities for profitability and benefit.
- Report on sales progress, pipeline, and forecast accuracy.
- Manage partnership proposals aligned with company strategy and prioritize projects.
Developing and Maintaining Strong Partner Relationships
- Build and nurture strategic relationships with key decision-makers.
- Schedule regular partner visits and oversee relationships with senior leaders.
- Ensure service levels, partner renewal rates, and satisfaction are maintained.
Operational Focus
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and growth.
- Measure customer success and influence future value through satisfaction metrics.
- Evaluate partnership effectiveness and ROI.
- Develop initiatives to drive revenue and enhance brand presence.
Team Management
- Lead a team of specialists to strengthen relationships and execute campaigns.
- Set performance targets, monitor progress, and develop team members.
- Recruit and manage staff, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Coordinate with PR agencies for media and editorial activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- NQF Level 7 Degree in Business Management; postgraduate degree advantageous.
- Key Individual status and CFP advantageous.
- 5–8 years in Financial Services, with 5 years in long-term insurance.
- Management experience of at least 3 years.
- Proven sales record and experience engaging C-suite clients.
- Experience in building strategic partnerships, managing budgets, and leading sales teams.
- Strong insurance product knowledge, especially in group benefits and employee benefits.
