Role Purpose
The Agile Portfolio Manager will oversee portfolio-level value-driven governance for agile product deliveries across Momentum Insure. The role is crucial in aligning initiatives with Momentum Insure’s business strategy and ensuring they meet short/long-term business needs and value expectations.
This person will also drive portfolio-level information delivery and provide value risk oversight by partnering with product owners, product managers, and project managers to define, analyze, and report on portfolio initiatives, business risks, metrics, and information related to value delivery.
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications
- Relevant B-degree or Diploma (essential)
- Relevant M-degree (desirable)
- Knowledge of project management software and tools
- Knowledge of project management lifecycle, from conception to close-out
- Knowledge of agile methodology
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of products administered by the business unit is an advantage
Experience
- 7+ years’ experience in a dedicated project management role (essential)
- Experience managing large-scale programmes from inception to close-out (essential)
- Experience managing a portfolio of work
- 3–5 years in a senior management position (desirable)
- Business experience – understanding of business processes
- Proficient understanding of the insurance industry
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the organization’s business and financial objectives and strategic goals are clearly articulated and accessible.
- Investigate the feasibility of initiatives supporting business strategy and objectives.
- Facilitate initiative selection, approval, and prioritization with the executive team to maximize value and manage risks.
- Maintain the overall business portfolio, including timely addition of initiatives.
- Manage cross-product dependencies.
- Establish metrics to measure initiative effectiveness in line with goals and KPIs.
- Ensure the portfolio meets its goals and delivers expected ROI.
- Identify and recommend termination of non-contributing initiatives.
- Create reports to communicate progress and portfolio metrics.
- Collaborate on resource management to ensure proper staffing and capacity.
- Oversee achievement and address risks related to product deliveries.
- Partner with product teams to review business cases and link benefits to investments.
- Apply and promote agile principles and practices.
- Review key metrics, outcomes, and milestones.
- Assess and report on delivery health objectively and transparently.
- Engage stakeholders in risk management.
- Identify risks and opportunities from interdependencies.
- Support barrier removal to delivery.
- Promote team energy and lead by example.
- Develop agile delivery best practices and standards.
- Engage key stakeholders across Momentum Metropolitan.
- Evaluate and improve delivery processes.
- Build collaborative relationships with leaders.
- Manage programs within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar.
- Design and analyze dashboards and data storytelling.
