Job description

Our client, an upmarket hotel and conference center in Pretoria is looking for a Pool & Water Plant Technician to join their team as soon as possible.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Monitors, handles, and installs all chemicals for Swimming pools, Jacuzzis and Water plant
• Maintain log of chemicals added
• Preform daily testing of water quality
• Maintain log of water tests
• Preforms daily water level checks
• Preform daily cleaning of plant rooms
• Performs daily cleaning of swimming pools and Jacuzzis and water plant
• Preform general maintenance around pool area Jacuzzis and water plant
• Performs repairs to pipes, filtration systems
• Preform annual filtration sand replacement
• Preform Daily, Weekly, Monthly backwash of water systems
• Preform preventative maintenance
• Responsible for ordering inventory of chemicals, parts, and supplies as needed with the supervisor or Storeman
• Works with skilled plumbers, painters, carpenters, electricians or other tradesmen and grounds employees were some knowledge of the basic operations and methods involved is necessary
• Performs heavy manual labour, custodial, and grounds work as directed
• Maintains maintenance records and schedules
• Performs related duties as assigned
• Preform work and tasks out of scope of work

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

• Grade 12
• Relevant trade certificate will be beneficial

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

• Min 3 to 5 years general pool maintenance
• Swimming pool and jacuzzi cleaning methods and techniques (essential)
• Good knowledge of pool chemicals (essential)
• Pump and filtration systems (essential)
• Good Knowledge on Plumbing, Electrical and Painting
