Job summary

AJ Personnel on behalf of Wits Health Consortium seeks a dedicated near point-of-care diagnostic testing technician to operate at PHRU Botshabelo District Hospital, Bloemfontein. You will perform NPOC testing per protocol, ensure timely communication of results, and document all primary records accurately at source in line with study protocols.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Biology or Life Science required.
• Experience in diagnostic or point-of-care testing in clinical/healthcare settings preferred.
• Experience with GCP-compliant clinical research and biosafety practices.
• Knowledge of specimen collection, handling, transport, and storage.
• Familiarity with POPIA and regulatory guidelines; ability to follow SOPs and study protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform NPOC testing directly on specimens according to protocol.
• Ensure accessibility and timeliness of diagnostic services.
• Operate NPOC devices and maintain consumables
• Conduct routine quality control checks to identify and correct errors.
• Document all participant information, test details and results accurately at the time of testing.
• Demonstrate effective self-management and performance ownership.
