Placements24 is seeking an experienced Plumbing and Pipefitting Supervisor for Durban-based construction projects. You will lead a team of plumbers and pipefitters, supervise on-site works, ensure compliance with codes and safety, and manage resources and schedules.

The role requires a recognized trade qualification, at least 5 years in plumbing/pipefitting with 2 years in supervision, strong leadership, and the ability to read blueprints. A valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct daily activities of plumbing/pipefitting crews on construction sites around Durban.
• Ensure work meets project specs, blueprints, and codes.
• Conduct site inspections for progress, quality, and safety compliance.
• Manage material procurement, tool inventory, and equipment for plumbing teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing/pipefitting issues on site.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to plumbers/pipefitters.
• Coordinate with other trades and site supervisors for smooth execution.
• Prepare work reports and track progress; optimize labor use.
• Enforce safety standards and conduct toolbox talks.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems, pipe materials, installation techniques, and relevant codes and regulations in Durban.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in managing teams and coordinating work schedules.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience with commercial and industrial plumbing projects is highly desirable.
