We are seeking a qualified Plumber to join our construction team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems on-site, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
A valid Durban Ticket Number is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and maintain pipes, fittings, and fixtures for water supply, drainage, and heating systems.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine plumbing layouts.
Conduct tests to check for leaks, blockages, and system malfunctions.
Repair or replace damaged plumbing components, including pipes, valves, and water heaters.
Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes, safety standards, and construction regulations.
Collaborate with construction workers, electricians, and project managers to coordinate plumbing installations.
Operate and maintain plumbing tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Keep accurate records of work performed and report issues to site supervisors.
Requirements:
Education & Certification:
Plumbing trade certificate or qualification (preferred).
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a plumber in a construction setting.
Experience with residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems.
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
Proficiency in using plumbing tools such as pipe cutters, wrenches, and welding equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
Work Conditions:
Work may be performed in both indoor and outdoor construction environments.
Requires lifting heavy materials and working in tight spaces.
Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on project deadlines.
