Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

Mechanical / Plumbing Services Maintenance & Repairs :

1. Undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance Tasks allocated by the Supervisor or Maintenance Planner.
2. Undertake Reactive Maintenance Tasks and Repairs allocated by the Supervisor or Maintenance Planner.
3. Ensure best Operating Practices are applied when undertaking Maintenance Tasks / Repairs, especially of a plumbing nature.
4. Provide a list of required materials to the Supervisor, Maintenance Planner, or Stores Administrator to enable successful execution of Maintenance Tasks.
5. Assist in keeping the workshop tidy and presentable.
6. Complete and issue Check Sheets to the Supervisor on a weekly basis.
7. Install and connect pipes, fixtures, valves, and appliances such as sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and irrigation systems, ensuring proper fitting, sealing, and compliance with building codes and regulations.
8. Diagnose and repair plumbing issues like leaks, clogs, faulty pipes, or malfunctioning fixtures using specialized tools and techniques.
9. Identify plumbing problems through inspections and testing, troubleshooting to find effective solutions.
10. Perform pipefitting and welding tasks related to plumbing system installation or repair.
11. Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to ensure plumbing systems meet health, sanitation, and environmental standards.
12. Communicate with clients or building occupants to understand their plumbing needs, provide guidance, cost estimates, and ensure customer satisfaction.
13. Transport employees as required.
