Golf Club in Linksfield is looking for a talented and passionate Players Assistant to join their team and help to deliver an outstanding experience to each one of their members, guests and residents.
The Player assistant is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and administration of the caddy program.
This includes supervising caddies, managing scheduling and assignments, ensuring high standards of service and etiquette and serving as a liaison between caddies, golfers, and the Golf Operations team.Duties : Caddy Management & Scheduling : Oversee and coordinate the daily roster and assignments of caddies.Match caddies with golfers based on availability, suitability, and player preference where possible.Maintain attendance records and caddy rotations to ensure fairness and consistent work.Training & Conduct : Train caddies on golf etiquette, course knowledge, player interaction and club expectations.Enforce club rules and discipline in the case of poor conduct or repeated issues.Monitor appearance and presentation of all caddies, ensuring uniforms and hygiene standards are maintained.
Player Service : Welcome golfers on arrival and ensure their bags are taken and assigned correctly.Ensure golfers receive professional, courteous service throughout their round.Handle special requests from players regarding preferred caddies or services.Operational CoordinationWork closely with Golf Director and Golf Operations team to align caddy operations with tee sheet, group bookings and event schedules.Coordinate halfway house needs and ensure all caddies receive the required meals and breaks.Assist with management of caddy fees, vouchers, and tip tracking when applicable.
Administration & Reporting : Maintain up-to-date caddy registration and documentation.Manage inventory of caddy bibs, uniforms and equipment.
Safety & Welfare : Monitor caddy welfare and report any incidents, injuries or misconduct.Promote a safe, respectful working environment for all caddies.Ensure caddies are aware of lightning protocols and evacuation procedures.
Requirements : At least 2 – 3 years' experience in a golf operations or supervisory roleExperience working with caddies or similar labour poolsKnowledge of club-level golf and member service expectationsStrong leadership and team supervision experienceExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and operationsFair and consistent in handling people and situationsBasic computer and administrative skills (Excel, rosters, reporting)Fluent in English (knowledge of local languages an advantage)Available to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidaysPrimarily outdoors, with physical presence needed throughout the dayAble to walk or stand for long periods
