Job summary

A leading brewery in Cape Town is seeking a Plant Quality Technician to support the implementation of food safety systems and ensure quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a Matric Certificate and a diploma in food science or microbiology, along with relevant FMCG experience. You will play a critical role in training, auditing, and enhancing the overall quality excellence at the facility.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in an FMCG environment is required.
• Educational background in food science or microbiology is preferred.

• Support implementation of food safety systems and internal audits.

Job description

Overall Responsibility: The Plant Quality Technician supports the implementation and maintenance of the food safety system at the Brewery facility.

Focus Area 1

• Supports Food Safety System Management
• Supports
  FS management systems policies & procedures aligned to applicable Food safety standard
• Supports Food safety reviews
• Training all staff on all aspects of the Food safety management system
• Supports Food safety internal audits, including GMP for site
• Develop and update SOPs related to Quality and Food safety management

• Supports manufacturing excellence
• Supports in implementation of Quality pillar requirements
• Support and complies with SHE pillar requirements
• Participate in problem solving
• Support the quality 5S drive
  

Requirements of the Role

• NSC Matric Certificate with Core Maths, Biology, Science
• Tertiary diploma in food science, microbiology, analytical or related field
• 1 year experience in a FMCG environment

Preferred Skills/Competencies

• Ability to communicate clearly, interpersonal skills and working well in a team environment
