Job summary

AGC Mining Recruitment Pty Ltd in the Northern Cape seeks a Plant Metallurgist to monitor and optimize metallurgical processes, drive improvements, and support R&D to enhance throughput while ensuring SHERQ compliance.

The role requires a National Diploma in Metallurgy with at least 5 years' experience in mineral processing and at least 1 year in supervision. Strong process knowledge, safety focus, and the ability to interpret process diagrams are essential.

Qualifications

• National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Metallurgy is required.
• BTech or Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years operational experience in mineral processing.
• Minimum 1 year in a supervisory, team leader, or project leadership role is advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years experience with Gravity Separation Technology is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and monitor production process performance and identify areas for optimization.
• Conduct process simulations and test work to support plant improvements and modifications.
• Lead and contribute to Research and Development (R&D) projects to enhance processing efficiency.
• Drive and participate in continuous improvement projects focused on safety, efficiency, and productivity.
• Ensure adherence to SHERQ standards and contribute to a culture of safety, health, environment, risk, and quality compliance.
• Maintain a high level of work ethics and foster a team-oriented work environment.
