Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Health, Safety and Risk Regulations: Ensure the safe operation of the plant and compliance with safety regulations. Report any conditions affecting safety to supervisors and management. Maintain and report safety items and deadlines.
2. Environment and Sustainability: Implement SA Environment and Sustainability procedures. Monitor production environment and sustainability efforts, including documentation such as environment reports.
3. Leadership and Human Resources: Follow company and HR procedures. Conduct production meetings, share minutes, and promote teamwork. Ensure performance appraisals are completed, and staff are well-informed of responsibilities. Facilitate training and development opportunities for the production team.
4. Personnel Management: Ensure staff are trained and skilled per work instructions. Manage employee relations, disciplinary actions, and attendance. Oversee recruitment, exit procedures, and medicals.
5. Quality and Laboratory: Follow procedures and work instructions. Monitor quality control processes and ISO standards. Maintain housekeeping. Investigate production issues using NCR registers and calibration records.
6. Finance and Administration: Contribute to procedures. Obtain quotes and recommend suppliers. Promote cost-saving initiatives.
7. Procurement and Inventory: Manage production losses and develop plans to reduce them. Prepare daily production planning documents.
8. Operations Management: Compile daily production plans. Analyze KPIs to improve asset productivity. Report production data and address non-conformance issues.
9. Business Intelligence and Communication: Review daily production data and ensure system compliance. Adhere to ERP and data requirements.
