Qualifications

Job description

What We Are Looking For

The Plant Manager (Boksburg) will be responsible for all Manufacturing and Operational activities in the Plant. This includes resource scheduling and optimisation in order to supply product safely, on time at the contracted quality standard.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for all daily activities and operations in the respective plant.
  2. In conjunction with the production planning section, prepare and manage production schedules. This includes all resources; material, components, facilities, Labour and equipment.
  3. Manage, monitor and report production against the Master Production Schedule and participate in risk mitigating actions.
  4. The Plant Manager must raise early warning of any risk related to delivery deadlines.
  5. Set and manage the operational overheads and Labour budget / forecast.
  6. Control and monitor direct cost of manufacturing.
  7. Provide inputs and motivations to the CAPEX budget.
  8. Communicate, monitor and ensure compliance to all relevant legislation and SHEQ systems, standards & procedures.
  9. Recommend, motivate and manage process and equipment changes via the official modification process and Engineering Change Proposal.
  10. Co-ordinate the plant modification initiatives.
  11. Resolve plant down-time through risk evaluation and task prioritization with the engineering section.
  12. Accountable for HR related problems which cannot be resolved at supervisor level.
  13. Ensure that performance contracting is maintained as per HR procedures and deadlines.
  14. Maintain discipline and comply with company policies, practices and procedures.
  15. Support company vision and value system and ensure calibration throughout the team.
What Qualifications You Should Have
  1. BSc. / B-Tech Degree (Mechanical / Industrial Engineering) or relevant NQF 7 equivalent qualification.
  2. At least 5 years' experience in the field of Production / Manufacturing with at least 2 years within a supervisory role.
  3. Experience on Heat treatment is essential.
  4. Knowledge of SAP.
  5. Precision or Automotive industries an added advantage.
  6. Excellent problem-solving abilities, good judgement and a decision maker.
  7. Ability to communicate and operate at a Senior Level.
  8. High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  9. Must be prepared to work irregular hours.
  10. Good interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  11. Computer literacy, with good spreadsheet, Power Point presentation and ERP system knowledge.
