Job summary

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing a world-class project in Limpopo. We invite suitably qualified candidates for the Concentrator vacancies aiming to commission the Platreef concentrator and lead daily operations with a strong emphasis on safety and performance.

You will drive KPIs, manage staffing across shifts, and collaborate with HR, maintenance, and technical teams to resolve production issues.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 /NQF Level 4 is essential.
• Valid South African Driving License is essential.
• Computer literate with SCADA, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet.
• Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning of the Platreef concentrator.
• Lead the team in executing daily operational activities and ensure SHE and OHS adherence.
• Implement and monitor KPIs to drive improvement and efficiency.
• Ensure production targets are achieved.
• Check staffing figures at shift start and ensure all activities are covered.
• Brief operators on production trends at shift start.
• Take corrective actions for significant deviations in processing that affect production or safety.
• Ensure team members adhere to work schedules.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies and standards.
• Audit sampling equipment and ensure procedure adherence.
• Provide coaching, mentorship and development for team members.
• Collaborate with HR, maintenance, technical, and safety teams to resolve production issues.
• Apply Ivanplats principles and uphold safety to zero harm and loss-time injuries.

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this "mine of the future". Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the Concentrator.

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12 /NQF Level 4 is essential.
• Valid South African Driving License.
• Computer literate with Scada, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet
• Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate.

Suitable Candidates Must Have The Following Work Experience

• Minimum 8 years' experience in a PGM production plant.
• A minimum of 8 years of job experience as a Plant Shift Leader/Senior Control Room Operator is essential
• Working on shift.
• Proven plant operational experience in PGM plant crushing, grinding, flotation, and filtration.
• Diagnostic skills, including but not limited to root cause analysis, trend analysis, and problem solving.
• Team leading and supervisory skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Commissioning of the Platreef concentrator.
• Lead the team in executing daily operational activities and ensuring adherence to SHE and OHS principles.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
• Ensure production targets are achieved.
• Check staffing figures at the start of the shift and ensure that all plant activities are functionally covered.
• Familiarise him/herself with production process activities and trends, and brief operators accordingly at the start of each shift.
• Take corrective actions and instruct staff accordingly regarding significant deviations in the processing plant that may influence production or safety.
• Ensure all team members adhere to work schedules.
• Ensure compliance with all HR policies, procedures, and standards.
• Audit of sampling equipment and ensure adherence to procedure.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for members, fostering a high-performance and accountability culture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, maintenance, technical department, and safety, to drive process efficiencies and to resolve production issues.
• Apply the Ivanplats principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for your safety and that of others to ensure zero harm and the elimination of fatalities and loss-time injuries in accordance with the Ivanplats Standards and Mine Health and Safety Act
