Plant Engineer

Location: Mpumalanga

Salary: R1,5 Mil-R1.7 Mil CTC

The Plant Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing various equipment that drives processes in a plant, with a strong emphasis on process improvement and plant maintenance, whilst maintaining a strong safety and environmental compliance focus for plant and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent, and commercial training.
  • Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) Factories
  • 15 years experience as a Plant Engineer in a power plant/utilities environment
  • Experience with Boilers, Steam Systems, and Power Plant Equipment

Related Experience:

  • 15 years experience as a Plant Engineer in a power plant/utilities environment.
  • Develop strategies for the Engineering Department in line with O&M strategy.
  • Develop and ensure the implementation of Engineering department work instructions, policies, procedures, and controls covering all areas of department activity to fulfill relevant procedural/legislative requirements while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
  • Proactively reduce breakdowns, ensure effective plant preventative maintenance, and plant improvements to deliver above target plant reliability.
  • Overview and assess planned maintenance activities to verify effective execution. Physically observe maintenance team on planned maintenance tasks when required. Review PM reports and schedule, revise frequencies, and plan interventions to prevent breakdowns.
  • Provide input into major breakdowns and analyze all breakdowns with the maintenance team to determine root cause and requirements for implementing corrective/preventive measures.
