Job summary

Samancor in Mpumalanga seeks an experienced maintenance professional to carry out preventive and breakdown work on plant equipment. You will manage safety, health, environment and quality aspects while ensuring reliable operation of LV/MV/HV systems.

Responsibilities include risk assessment, fault analysis, SAP work order handling and staff coaching. Practical rigging, boiler making and lifting operations are required where trained and authorised.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance on industrial plant equipment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and SHEQ procedures.
• Ability to perform fault finding on drives, PLC inputs/outputs.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess risk exposures across people, equipment, materials and processes.
• Apply mitigation and control measures for residual risk.
• Comply with SHEQ requirements and use the SHEQ Toolbox.
• Utilise the IMS to report SHEQ status.
• Manage labour stability and budget-aligned staffing.
• Conduct career discussions and develop identified talent.
• Ensure discipline and coach staff; conduct recruitment interviews.
• Perform maintenance on LV/MV/HV electrical systems and mechanical parts.
• Execute breakdown work orders; create SAP notifications and feedback.
• Operate lifting equipment and rigging when trained and authorised.
• Carry out basic boiler making (arc welding and gas cutting).
• Conduct regular plant inspections and report non-conformances.
