Job summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is seeking a skilled HV Plant maintenance technician for the Mpumalanga region, at the North East Grid location. The role focuses on safe, organized maintenance of HV plant and associated equipment, with a requirement for sound knowledge of ORHVS and OHS laws.

Two years of electrical experience and a Trade Certificate Electrical (Light/Heavy Current) at NQF 4 are required. This permanent position is based at the Zeus Substation area in Mpumalanga.

Qualifications

• Plant equipment knowledge and procedures.
• Familiarity with local operating procedures and HV plant certification requirements.
• Planning and operating procedures for HV maintenance.
• Switchgear maintenance in line with HV certifications.
• Work site safety requirements and ORHVS/OHS compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide an operating service to HV plant.
• Execute maintenance of HV equipment.
• Perform inspections and document results.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental policies.
• Provide mentoring and coaching to junior staff.
• Provide documentation and configuration management.
• Monitor non outage related activities and conditions.
