A leading company in logistics is seeking a Planning Administrator to manage transport schedules and documentation. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient administration of transport operations and adhere to service level agreements, contributing to customer satisfaction and compliance. This role requires strong organizational skills and proficiency in logistics systems.
Job Purpose : Responsible to plan the demand to achieve agreed service level agreements.
The Planning Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the transport planning function by ensuring the accurate, efficient, and timely administration of transport schedules and routing.Key Dials : Plan the demand within the agreed service level agreementsMonitor the demand to achieve agreed service levelsGeneral administration duties pertaining to the department requirementsDeals with customers in a customer centricity mannerEffective self-management and teamworkKey Responsibilities : Provide daily administrative support to the transport planning team.Capture, update and maintain trip schedules, route plans, and driver rosters on internal systems.Assist with the preparation and distribution of route plans, delivery schedules, and related documentation.Ensure accurate data entry of vehicle movements, delivery times, and customer details.Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, and customer service to coordinate deliveries and resolve any scheduling issues.Monitor route progress and adjust plans in response to delays, breakdowns, or urgent delivery changes.Maintain filing systems and databases for transport records, compliance documents, and performance tracking.Generate reports related to vehicle utilization, route adherence, and on-time delivery metrics.Support the Planning Manager with any ad hoc reporting and administrative tasks.Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and company transport policies.Minimum Requirements : Matric / Grade 12 (essential).Diploma or certificate in Logistics, Transport Management, or Business Administration (advantageous).Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative role within a transport or logistics environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and transport / logistics systems (e.g., SAP, TMS, or similar platforms).Strong organisational and time management skills.Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Key Competencies : Problem-solving and decision-making.Planning and organising.Accountability and reliability.Team collaboration.Adaptability and flexibility.High level of integrity and confidentiality.
