Position Overview:

This role involves planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine and facilitate required material purchases. Responsibilities include:

  • Obtaining materials aligned with engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory levels (e.g., Just in Time, EOQ)
  • Resolving discrepancies
  • Creating and maintaining bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain systems
  • Ensuring material standards are met and managing non-conformances
  • Developing specifications for new contracts
  • Gathering quotations, examining bids, and making awards
  • Monitoring costs, schedules, and scope of subcontracts to ensure quality and value
  • Evaluating vendor reliability and sourcing new suppliers when needed

The role requires applying general concepts and principles to resolve various issues, working on problems of moderate scope, and analyzing situations considering multiple factors. The position typically involves receiving general instructions for routine tasks and detailed guidance for new projects. Candidates should have a degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
