Job summary

Cotech Building Careers is seeking a skilled Construction Planner based in KwaZulu-Natal. The role supports the Construction Department across one or more projects, interfacing with Development, Technical, Finance and Commercial teams throughout all phases.

You will develop planning systems, assist with programme preparation and revision, and contribute to logistics planning, 3D modelling, and CEMPs, while producing and updating progress reports in Excel.

Qualifications

Develop and revise construction and pre-construction programmes.
Assist with production of construction logistics plans and tender presentations.
Assist with 3D modelling for project visuals.
Prepare CEMPs (Construction and Environmental Management Plans).
Create and maintain progress reporting schedules in Excel.
Update monthly project progress reports and distribute updated programmes.

Responsibilities

Develop and refine project construction programmes across multiple projects.
Collaborate with Construction, Development, Technical, Finance and Commercial teams.
Produce and update logistics plans and visual time slices.
Contribute to 3D modelling activities for project planning.
Prepare CEMPs and safety-related documentation.
Generate progress schedules in Excel and monitor changes.

We have a great opportunity for a Construction Planner to join our client's team based at their office in Maidstone. As a Construction Planner you will provide support to the Construction Department and interface with other Departments (i.e. Development, Technical, Finance and Commercial) during all phases of a project. This would be required over one or several projects, as and when required.

Requirements

You will play a large part in developing one planning system You will play a large part in developing one planning system that will be used by the Construction department and the wider business.

To assist with the preparation and revision of construction and pre construction programmes

To assist with the preparation and alteration of construction logistics plans, visual time slices and tender presentations (from a construction planning perspective)

To assist with the production of 3D models

To assist with the preparation of CEMPs (Construction and Environmental Management Plans)

To prepare sets of progress reporting schedules in Excel

To update a monthly progress report on projects

To maintain the programme issue record, correct filings and ensure proper distribution of up-to-date programmes and logistics

To obtain feedback from site regarding programme accuracy, with the view to improvement going forward

Visits to site, with the objective of broadening knowledge of construction methodology and building standards, as well as to verify progress reported by these sites.
